Dodge Dart 2016 – Product Review

2016 Dodge Dart White Car Review TORsAdventures 01

For the past week I have been driving a 2016 Dodge Dart around the South Florida area. I have to say that I was really not impressed with the car at all. Currently I have a 2008 VW Beetle Convertible so I knew things were going to be different but I thought I could find some cool features that my car doesn’t have.

My first impression was that everything seemed a little cheap. When wearing shorts or a dress the seat fabric actually scratches your legs. I connected my phone to the Bluetooth to take advantage of the hands free options because it said that my phone was compatible.  When I tried to use it the system it couldn’t seem to hold the connection to play music or make a call.

I do understand that this is a lower model car and I was not thinking that it was going to be like a Lexus or an Audi. With that said,  I do expect a little more since it is a 2016 model and it should have a newer feel to the car and cool new fabulous electronics. The rental only cost me $120 for the week but, the memory will stick with me for awhile. Next time I will choose a different car or pay for the upgrade.

After some research online I found some price specs and as I thought, this car it is at the low end of the car pricing scale. However, these days all new cars should be fun – AT LEAST FUN ELECTRONICALLY. Overall if this is your first car and you are looking for a good deal that has a factory warranty and new car smell this car will fit the bill but not much else.

Sweet Pete’s

I have to admit that I am a HUGE fan of the show The Profit.  I am something of an entrepreneur fanatic!  When I was a kid I had to be dragged in from selling candy for whatever thing it was my school needed me to sell for them. I created Victorious Creations in grade-school. Now it is Tor’s Adventures Media. SO……I love this guy!  I want him to be my mentor someday! I loved the show with Sweet Pete’s and was hoping to visit the store next time I was in Jacksonville since I have been living in Florida for the last three and a half years. I am now  in Illinois and I saw on the update show that they opened a store in Lake Forest, IL …… a little north of Chicago. We were heading to the city this morning so I added the sweet stop onto our trip.

The store was everything I expected!  From the smell of candy being made as we walked into the bright and cheerful store, to the taste of the salted caramel they were sampling as we walked into the door it was fabulous! I got to see the gummy bear lamp that I saw on TV.  AWESOME!  We bought some cupcakes, strawberry straws and some salt water caramels. The store manager was absolutely delightful and I would love to come back to take some of their classes.

Ruby Falls – Tennessee

I found a delightful pit stop off the I-24 highway when I was headed south. You see quite a few signs for Ruby Falls when you’re on the highway and might think that its a tourist trap but it was actually pretty cool. In 1928, Leo Lambert and a team of excavators found a breathtaking waterfall located over 1,120 feet below the surface of Lookout Mountain in Chattanooga, TN. Lambert named the falls after his wife, Ruby, and opened the area as a public attraction in 1930. Today, Ruby Falls welcomes thousands of visitors each year. Come tour the falls for yourself and see why it has been one of the best Chattanooga attractions for over 85 years. – Via www.rubyfalls.com

The cave when you walk in is so low that I could touch the ceiling without being on my toes. I am 5’6 but it was very easy. I know that my Dad who is 6’4 would have had some issues walking around and even getting to the waterfall.

Ruby Falls Cave, unlike Lookout Mountain Cave, had no natural openings and could not be entered until the 20th Century; it therefore does not have the various artifacts which are often associated with caves in the southeastern United States. In 1905 the natural entrance to Lookout Mountain Cave was closed during the construction of a railway tunnel. In the 1920s a chemist and cave enthusiast named Leo Lambert thought that he could re-open the cave as a tourist attraction, and formed a company to do so. He planned to make an opening further up the mountain than the original opening and transport tourists to the cave via an elevator. For this purpose, his company purchased land on the side of Lookout Mountain above Lookout Mountain Cave and in 1928 began to drill through the limestone. In doing so, they discovered a small passageway about 18 inches high and four feet wide. Exploring this opening, Lambert discovered the formerly hidden Ruby Falls Cave and its waterfall. On his next trip to visit the cave, Lambert took his wife Ruby, and told her that he would name the falls after her.

In 1954, the pathway around the basin was cut in order to allow tourists a better view of the falls. This began the tour-related quip regarding not drinking the falls’ water. Though pure and thus safe to drink, it has large concentrations of magnesium from the strata of the mountain, which makes it a natural laxative. Via en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ruby_Falls
