Kentucky Derby 2012

This was my first year at the Kentucky Derby and man was it a good one!

First we had to make it across state lines … That was part of the fun I think. After lots of storm warnings I wasn’t sure if their was even going to be a Derby to attend!

Yes my little Green pin was in that red spot! The walls at the hotel were shaking from all of the thunder.

Funny photo time as we waited for our smoked Turkey leg! Man was it worth it!

That thing was HUGE and their is no good photo of someone trying to eat it!

And now it was time to UPGRADE my hat! To a PINK Whale that is!

After my wonderful Turkey leg and my new hat it was finally time for the main event! Bodemister to win the Kentucky Derby … Well most of you know by now that is not what happened! But I did still walk away a winner!

Overall it was a great day that I would recommend to anyone thinking about going!

As always Peace Love and Tweeting- tOr

#ANCA Trip Part 3

Wednesday was the first official day of the #ANCA Summit being held at the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont. We spent most of the morning driving around Cades Cove (hot spot for Bears). And man did the bears come out that day! We saw 7 of them! A Mom and her 3 Cubs, 2 more Cubs (Mom was already up the hill) and a Male just taking a stroll down the hillside. From what I was told we were very lucky to see that many in one day. Later in the week we took 3 more drives around Cades Cove and no more bears were spotted. It was a great week to spend out in the Mountains, The weather was perfect and we even had a few thunderstorms to enjoy! There were lots of Campfire and Singing, I learned the words to more songs than I even thought was possible.
