The Rosie Show

The Rosie Show was a BLAST! I got to attend the show for the first time last night. The show had Sara Remirez and Common as the 2 main guests. Also with a huge side of comedy. We started the adventure waiting in line around 4. After getting checked in we were sent upstairs and greeted with a special surprise. Sprinkles Cupcake! They are some of the best cupcakes that you can find anywhere! I had a Chocolate one with Vanilla icing and Chocolate sprinkles. As we were waiting the excitement was in the air everyone was excited to see what Rosie was going to do tonight. There were a lot of fans of Oprah that never got to see the show and also people who were really there to see Rosie. As a resident of Chicago I was able to attend a few of the Oprah show taping and this was nothing like those. It was BETTER. Don’t get me wrong I love Oprah but there was an excitement in the air that you just can’t describe with words. After be called down the the Studio to get our seats we noticed something blue under our seats with a ribbon tied around it …. Yes living up to the hype we all had a Snuggie under our seats that we had to put on for the opening scene of the show. All in all it was a fun time! The bonus at the end was as we were leaving we got another Cupcake from Sprinkles to take home!

Thanks Rosie and your team for such a great day!

Autobahn Country Club Joliet, IL

As I sit here trying to write this blog I am trying to think of words that can describe my day yesterday … Amazing, Exciting, Wonderful, Thrilling, FAST – This list can go on and on. I was at the Autobahn Country Club in Joliet, IL. For those of you who don’t know Joliet has the Chicagoland Speedway where they hold the Nascar and Indy cup races. Just across the street is any one who loves speeds dream place to go. I know a few of the members and got invited to Lady’s Day at the track! My day started out by getting to take a few “Hot Laps” with Tom Bagley who is a former Indy car driver and also Director of Racing Instruction & Track Safety at the Autobahn Country Club.

Then we were taken to the club house for some afternoon snacks and to get some instruction on what we would be doing for the rest of the day.

I got to learn the proper techniques for braking for a turn and also got to do an auto cross course. Now you might be wondering by now what on earth was I driving to make this so much fun … That would be the 2012 Mercedes C 63 and the Audi TT. Amazing cars by the way! They are part of the Performance Fleet that includes cars from all the top manufactures. After we were able to master the Auto-Cross course we then were off to the Go Karts. (I was the 2nd fastest time with 34.76 seconds.) Then it was time for the moment we have all be waiting for … to drive our cars on the actual race track! With the fleet of cars that were there we all got to pick a car that we wanted to drive. I chose the Mercedes E63.

I didn’t think that these cars could get any better but they did! That was the nicest car that I have ever driven and it was not because it was on a race track!

I would highly recommend this as something you take a chance at! Here is the web site so you can check them out for yourself! www.autobahncc.com

#ANCA Trip Part 3

Wednesday was the first official day of the #ANCA Summit being held at the Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont. We spent most of the morning driving around Cades Cove (hot spot for Bears). And man did the bears come out that day! We saw 7 of them! A Mom and her 3 Cubs, 2 more Cubs (Mom was already up the hill) and a Male just taking a stroll down the hillside. From what I was told we were very lucky to see that many in one day. Later in the week we took 3 more drives around Cades Cove and no more bears were spotted. It was a great week to spend out in the Mountains, The weather was perfect and we even had a few thunderstorms to enjoy! There were lots of Campfire and Singing, I learned the words to more songs than I even thought was possible.
