My Birthday Weekend!

Well as some of you might know this weekend was also my birthday weekend. Yes I was born on July 6th but for some reason they seem to get the fireworks wrong and start the celebration a few days early. I can tell my Mother misses me since the mailman had a lot of extra things to deliver. We are up to 8 cards so far! Thanks Mom!

I will have to say that 2 of them that my Dad picked out were the funniest!

Overall it turned out to be a pretty eventful day. Went to Fort Zach during the day. I snagged my favorite picnic table with a great view of the water and ended up being there for 6 hours and didn’t even realize it.

After that I treated myself to a wonderful sushi dinner and went out and had some drinks at a great jazz bar off Duval called Virgilios.

Thanks to everyone who wish me Happy Birthday it will not be one to forget!

Fort Zachary Taylor – Key West

So since I have started my new life here in Key West some things are very different. Starting with your daily activities! I am so excited to get off work early and go to … THE BEACH. Yes… Rub it in I know! It is so much fun to run to my house change my clothes and in 20 minutes have my toes in the sand.

Another thing that is very different is getting used to all of the Iguanas and Chickens running around everywhere! These roosters do not know how to tell time and are making all kinds of noise at 2, 3 and 4 am!

Didn’t get burnt!

I can not say enough great things about Fort Zachary Taylor State Park. The beaches are wonderful. Don’t forget your water shoes if your feet tend to hurt from walking on shells all day. Everyone who works for the park is so nice and inviting. I think that plays a huge role in someones opinion of a location or place they are visiting.
