SXSW 2012 – Dallas, TX

Aloha,

On our final night of the road trip into Austin, we stayed at the wonderful W hotel in Dallas, TX. These people know what they are doing! From the atmosphere when you walk in the door to the amazing staff waiting to assist you in any way! I planned on ordering room service and to my surprise they had sushi! I’m not sure if you know by now but I could live on sushi, 365 days a year!

Mmmm who doesn’t love Sushi!

The rooftop infinity pool! To bad it was raining! My swimsuit would have gotten some use on this trip!

Breakfast time! I know I am back home in Texas since the “Home Fries” taste the exact way they always should! The ham was pretty darn good too!

This photo was for my Dad! Only in Texas do they serve you with a small bottle of Tabasco.

Make sure to track where we are on our journey with the cool website from OnStar here.

Cant wait to hear from you all!

#ANCA Trip Part 1

Well this was the start of our 7 day trip to Townsend, TN. We are staying in a 5 bedroom cabin that is located in the Great Smoky Mountains. More on that tomorrow! Today was just the kick start to the trip with a stop at the Rock Springs Nature Center located in Decatur, IL. Great place to spend the day! They have a 2nd story bird viewing area so you are at the same eye level with the birds! Also there are 9 hiking trails that you can take a simple 15 to 20 minutes stroll or an hour long hike. Here is a link to the website

(Our Expedition packed with everything you could need on a road trip!)

The most exciting thing for the day was the Sushi making lesson that I got from our family friend. I had never even attempted to make Sushi before so this was an experience for me! It was so much fun! Did you know why the rice tastes so darn good? They add sugar to it! Yes that’s right SUGAR! I got to do everything from helping make the rice to chopping all of the vegetables. That is the hard part getting everything lined up so all you have to do is spread the rice and fill the roll with anything! I got to create a few rolls and we also used some recipes that we already had. Well I have to say everything was amazing! When we were finally done we had made a total of 11 rolls. This is something that I will definitely be doing again at home. I tried to take as many pictures as possible of the whole process so you can get an idea of what it takes to make just one roll.

Peace Love and Tweeting -Tor
