I had so much fun exploring Lake Pend Oreille again while I was in Idaho this summer! We are extremely lucky that Scott’s grandparents have a house on the water and we can just jump onto the boat and go! Grandpa John takes us on his famous Jungle Cruises! I am always on the lookout for moose, elk and deer. They like to take a swim in the water during those hot summer days. Lake Pend Oreille in the northern Idaho Panhandle is the largest lake in the U.S. state of Idaho and the 38th-largest lake by area in the United States, with a surface area of 148 square miles. They also say that since the lake is so deep they do submarine testing too. My favorite fun fact that I discovered this summer was that Matthew Mcconaughey bought a house right on the lake! I can’t wait to come back and maybe run into him at the local grocery store … the town is very small it could happen!
Studio Update
I have been a photographer for about 15 years and I can finally say that I have a studio space that I am in LOVE with! My husband and I bought a house in our new town outside of Seattle, Washington and when I saw all that space downstairs I knew I needed to do something fun with it. The whole concept took a couple of months but I am finally excited to share my first photo of the studio space I have created. I have somehow pieced all these wonderful backdrops into a working studio. I spent quite a bit of time at the local thrift store or the Habitat for Humanity store looking for random items that I knew I could use in a creative way. Since my husband is active duty in the military I needed items that could be packed up and moved with us when we go to his next duty station. A few weeks ago I was looking at the flooring section and saw these beautiful pieces of wood. After closer inspection I discovered that they were not flooring at all! They were pine or cedar siding for a house! They had about 30 of these 6 foot tongue and groove boards. I asked to speak to a manager and was able to get them all for $50! What a steal right! I also found some never used cream colored doors that I knew would be a perfect neutral backdrop!
Location Scouting
My friend Heather and I spent some time checking out locations for some Fall photoshoots coming up and I am happy to show off the beautiful photos I took while we were there. She was such a good stand in!
